I am contacting you to notify you of a constructive and helpful piece of work by Clarendon's Care Manager - Heath in relation to my client Mary.
This service user, who was assessed on Quinton Wing last September with a diagnosis of alcoholic dementia, required a residential home placement that could allow her to stabilise gently, offer he a smoking facility and cope sensitively with the differing access needs of her family who were hostile to one another.
Claremdon have gone out of their way to accommodate Mary's attendance at her daughter's wedding, have survived a 2-day visit from another daughter and 3 very small disruptive children, who took her down to London for a visit post-wedding, and have attempted a resocialisation programme.
They are now co-operating fully in the next stage of the plan to choose alternative accommodation.
This level of work is of the standard we would expect of residential care, but one which sadly is not often achieved.
